About Horchata
Horchata was released in 2022 by Compound Genetics and quickly spread through Canadian and American licensed producers, some of whom sell the same cut under the spelling Horchatti. It is a first-generation style cross of two Gelato-family parents, Jet Fuel Gelato and Mochi Gelato, so it carries a lot of that line’s density and resin.
Expect compact, medium-sized flowers with a heavy frosting of trichomes. When the bud is broken, the aroma opens with black pepper from caryophyllene, then a bright citrus note from limonene and a thinner pine edge from pinene. Some descriptions also pick up floral and woody tones underneath.
Leafly lists average THC at about 20%, with CBD trace to under 1%, though batches vary by grower and harvest. Commonly reported effects are relaxed, talkative and focused. Dry mouth and dry eyes are the most commonly reported downsides. Check the label on each lot for the exact THC and terpene figures.
Horchata lineage
Jet Fuel Gelato × Mochi Gelato, bred by Compound Genetics. Jet Fuel Gelato is a Gelato-line cross with a fuel-forward aroma, and Mochi Gelato (also sold as Gelato 47) is a Gelato phenotype known for density and resin. Horchata is the Compound Genetics cross of the two.
